The Burge Terrace Student Ministry exists to encourage and equip the next generation to glorify their God by living a gospel-centered life entirely by his grace.
“Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly…” (Colossians 3:16a).
“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18). Because the preaching of the cross is the power of God, we believe it to be the single most important practice in instructing and building young lives in the service of the King. We preach the Scripture expositionally, and we teach the students clearly how the gospel affects every area of their lives.
“For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again” (2 Corinthians 5:14-15). The love that moved Christ to die for us must move us to live for him. We are compelled to give everything we are and have to his great work and cause. We strongly encourage and seek to equip each student to abandon his or her small ambitions to embrace a life given for the sake of the gospel. Our astonishing relationship with Christ moves us to live for him.
Sunday School (Sunday, 9:30 am)
We teach 7-12 grade students expositionally through a New Testament book, Old Testament book, Bible individual, or a Psalm.
Youth Hour (Sunday, 5:00 pm)
The heartbeat of our student ministry is our weekly preaching service. After the singing of gospel-saturated hymns and the giving of teen testimonies, we preach a passage of Scripture in an expositional style.
Once a month after the evening service, we gather at a church member’s home for a time of fun, food, and spending time together.
